ASME Ontario Section is proud to organize a plant tour to Pratt & Whitney Mississauga facility tour. The tour will comprise of a presentation entailing the technology behind Pratt & Whitney’s powerful and very popular Turbofans, Turboprops and Turboshafts. This is followed by a tour of onsite manufacturing of above technologies in action.

The P&W Mississauga facility supports product research and development as well as product assembly & test. This facility is a major R&D centre for P&WC that supports all product lines and has the centres of excellence for compression systems, combustion systems and turbofan engine development.

The design and analytical organizations support all product lines, and the development organization has played a lead role in development of the PW300, PW500, PW600 and PW800 product lines. The facility also has final assembly and test capabilities and is currently producing the PW300 family of turbofan engines which incorporate the latest advanced technologies in the drive to exceed P&WC customers’ expectations in performance, reliability, durability, fuel consumption and environmental friendliness.

You will need to show your Ontario driver’s license or passport at the main entrance. Please provide citizenship and employer information when registering.

Note: The registration information is mandatory as P&W conducts a screening process for all attendees. Registration is closed on Wednesday, August 10th at 11:59 PM. Registration for the event doesn’t guarantees admittance to the plant as it depends upon the security clearance. After registration, you will be notified about security clearance status as soon as it becomes available.

Mandatory personal protection:

  • Safety Glasses shall be worn in all areas of the shop floor at all times. (will be provided)
  • Approved safety shoes with steel toes are required to be worn in all areas of the plant outside of the red aisles. Open toed shoes or shoes with straps are prohibited on the plant floor with no exceptions. (Please bring your own safety shoes. Limited quantity of temporary safety shoes are available at the facility). Please indicate on the form if you do not have a pair and we will try to accommodate
  • Hearing protection is strongly recommended on all areas of the shop floor. (will be provided)
